Expert tasting note: "Deep, dark ruby-red, is not opaque. Dark fruit aromas are restrained but are concentrated & rich with vanilla, cocoa-butter & coffee grounds notes. The palate shows intense, ripe dark fruit overlaid with notes of coffee grounds. Alcohol is a touch warm & gives roundness. Acid is sufficient to lift the fruit & balance the aggressive firm tannins. Firm gripping tannins dominate the fruit on the mid-palate. Dark firm fruit re-emerges on a long structured finish."
