A blue morpho butterfly's wings at close range, filling the whole canvas. Pale chalk-blue is laid over a black ground so the weave of the canvas shows through every stroke, and the dark veins branch across the surface in heavy, confident lines. One of three butterfly wing studies in this year's show, alongside Monarch Wings and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. Created by an artist at Transitions Homeless Center.
